The concept of the BYU Treasure Hunt is a series of clues that leads a person through fascinating places and landmarks in BYU, all leading towards a valuable goal. I thought about this concept
as I walked between classes on the campus of Brigham Young University in
Provo, Utah. I realized that there was so much "National Treasure" potential on campus. There are so many landmarks and so much history that could be fed into an exciting treasure hunt.
I wrote this treasure hunt with the intent to create an adventure on BYU
campus that would be entertaining and educational. My approach is based
on the four Aims (guiding principles) of a BYU Education: spiritually
strengthening, intellectually enlarging, character building, and
life-long learning and service. I've created a section--or
"chapter"--for each Aim, crafting a different set of clues and
objectives for each chapter. As my enthusiasm for this project grew, so
did my desire to share it with the entire BYU community. It is my hope
that those who go on this treasure hunt will discover something they've
never taken the time to notice before, and will gain a greater
appreciation for the campus and the people behind its establishment.
That brings me to this blog, a place to publish the treasure hunt as
well as to act as a forum where people can ask for hints and share their
experiences.

Why does the link to the facebook not work? Can I get a copy of this?
ReplyDeleteI have updated the Facebook link, so it should work now. If you're looking for a copy of the Treasure Hunt, it is at the end of the text under "The Treasure Hunt" page, which link you can find just above the "About Me" section.
